Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. The platform has recommended to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Modifications Previously, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Stories A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she explained. Necessary Adjustments A different user, from Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she stated.
