The assault caused the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
